Travis Head Blasts 30 Runs Off Sam Curran, Races to 19-Ball Fifty in 1st T20I

Head's Innings Powers Australia to Victory

Travis Head's blistering knock of 30 runs off just 19 balls helped Australia secure a comfortable victory in the first T20I against England at the Adelaide Oval on Friday.

Head came to the crease with Australia in a spot of bother at 30/2 in the fourth over. However, he took the attack to the English bowlers right from the start, smashing two boundaries off Sam Curran in the same over.

Head continued to find the boundary with ease, racing to his fifty in just 19 balls. His innings was laced with six fours and two sixes, and it played a pivotal role in Australia's eventual total of 162/6.

Curran's Expensive Over Proves Costly

Curran's over in which Head took him for 30 runs proved to be the turning point of the match. The left-arm pacer had earlier dismissed David Warner and Mitchell Marsh in quick succession, but Head's onslaught put Australia back in control.

Curran finished with figures of 2/40 from his four overs, but his expensive over against Head ultimately proved to be the difference between the two sides.

Australia Dominate England in Adelaide

Australia's victory in the first T20I was their third consecutive win over England in the shortest format of the game. The hosts also won the three-match ODI series 2-1, and they will be looking to complete a clean sweep of the tour in the second T20I on Sunday.

England, on the other hand, will need to bounce back quickly if they want to avoid a series defeat. They will be hoping for a better performance from their bowlers, who were unable to contain Head and the rest of the Australian batsmen.
